The Titans attended the BAAC Summer LC Spectacular Thursday July 29th through Sunday August 1st. The 4-day event was our last Long Course opportunity open to all swimmers this summer and we came ready to swim! Fantastic efforts were on display by the nearly 50 swimmers who represented the team! Twenty-eight NI championship cut times achieved, 78 new swims, an amazing 134 best times, and a few DQ’s to learn from. Fantastic efforts by all! Thursday we had swimmers in the 200 Fly, 50 free, and the 1500 Free events....

Congrats to Lauren Levy for an outstanding weekend at Futures in Richmond, VA. Lauren walked away with personal best in all of her swims. This was a meet she has been looking forward to for 18 month and had a great experience. We look forward to next year and bigger meets to come. Did you ever wonder how the Titans came to be? We learned a few months ago, that the Titans were originally called the Seahawks. But who started the Seahawks? Back in the day, there was a team known as the Water Buffaloes and not every swimmer was invited to join. These parents wanted their children to have a chance to swim too. The Titans were able to attend our first meet at ECC since the pandemic began! We had tremendous efforts from those in attendance. The 13 and older swimmers were able to compete in a prelims/finals format all weekend and we even got to swim some relays! As we continue to spotlight 50 Titans for 50 Years, we are going back to back with our Sagasta family members and featuring former Titan swimmer and coach: Lindsay Sagasta. Much like her cousin Jacquie, Lindsay has been in the pool since a very early age. She joined our Titans team when she was just 6 years old. The Titans had a busy weekend July 9th and 10th! We had two opportunities to swim right here in Western New York. Some Titans join our team as the littlest members just keep swimming all the way through college. A Titan swimmer since she was in kindergarten is our next alumni highlight is: Jacquelyn Sagasta. Jacquie’s early years on Titans helped prepare her for her successes on the Kenmore West High School swim team starting in just 7thgrade. After high school she went on to attend Canisius College, where she majored in environmental science and animal behavior, ecology, and conservation (ABEC), and competed on their swim team. Time Trial # 25 was held on June 25th at the Town of Tonawanda Aquatic and Fitness Center. We hosted our 2nd Long Course swimming opportunity and were happy to have BAAC in attendance for some great competition. Spring wrapped up with the Titans hosting Time Trial # 24 at the Town of Tonawanda Aquatic and Fitness Center Friday the 18th.
