Titans Swim Fast and Smart at the Canadian-American Challenge
The Canadian-American Challenge held at ECC November 8th through the 11th, was another great opportunity for the Titans to show what they have been focused on. We sent 48 swimmers from Levels 2 through 8 to the meet. We had a ton of fun in the cool waters of ECC, swimming fast and smart! This meet was run in both pools simultaneously.
We had the 12 and unders swimming in one while the 13 and over competed in the other. The three-day meet provided some fantastic opportunities for our team to try new events, show off improved strokes, and drop time!
The 12 and under pool was simply amazing! Friday evening, we saw Heather Malkiewicz and Owen Sciebetta Swim the 200 IM for the first time. We also had Emma Cwiklinski swim the 500 very well, for the first time as a Titan. Meredith Roberts, Campbell Murphy, Megan Hufnagle, and Taylor Shepherd all put in great efforts leading to new personal best times, a bunch of Silver and Gold cut times, and some fun on deck!
Saturday and Sunday were equally amazing!
The 12 and under swimmers pulled together 48 best times 11 new swims and only 1 DQ. We had 50 NI Championship Qualifier Cut Times (silver), 11 NI Championship Cuts (gold), and 24 Swimmers had personal bests over the three day meet. Several of these swimmers were only able to swim a day or two due to School activities but they made the most of their limited opportunities and did us proud.
The 13 and over swimmers followed the 12 and unders lead with nearly 50 personal best, more Star Invite cut times and NI Championship cut times. I was awesome to have the girls back racing with the team and the Boys were able get one last meet in before HS season started. Payton Taylor and Jack Kendall had personal best in all their events. Mandy Hill had a great Sunday dropping in 4 events and Bailey Wiegand had 3 personal best as she get ready for the State meet.
Good Luck to Lauren Levy, Maya Marcyan, Bailey Wiegand and Veronica Bargnesi at the NYS High School State meet Nov 22-23!!!!!
Great job Titans!
