Titans Halloween Meet - Spooktacular Results
The Titans Halloween Meet was a tremendous success. Planning and preparation on the part of our parent volunteers as well as the swimmers made this another great meet hosted by the Titans! Thanks to all who volunteered, donated and swam so well! We had 113 swimmers in the meet ranging from Level 1 to Level 8, they compiled a total of 342 personal best times, 57 Championship cuts, 150 Championship Qualifier meet cuts, 68 new swims, and had a ton of fun in the process.
Five swimmers from Level 1 swam in the Halloween Meet. Raegen Cannon, Rhys Engelhardt, Derek Hufnagel, Josie Lyons, and Michael Scibetta all swam the 50 Freestyle. All five swimmers did an awesome job and both Josie and Michael dropped several seconds! Raegen also swam an awesome 50 Butterfly. Way to go!
So proud of everyone in Level 2 that swam in the Halloween meet this year! It was the first meet for some, and a chance to drop time in events for others. It was great to see our swimmers fearlessly tackling 100 yard swims, especially those who did stroke events and IM. Great job everyone!
Level 3 had 19 swimmers compete in our Halloween Titans meet and they set a great stage for this coming season! They came to race and showed it with 37 best times over all. Shout out to Phoebe Erickson, Conner McGirr, and Eli Feuerstein for competing in their first meet! Moving forward we are going to continue our work on the small things so that we can decrease the number of DQ’s and continue to drop those times! We are proud of the hard work level 3 has been putting into practice and working on racing smart! Great job level 3, keep it up!
Level 4 had 17 amazing swimmers attend the meet! They have been working hard on efficiency, counting strokes, and speed at practice and it paid off! 67 new best times, 17 new events swum, and only 3 DQ’s. Super job. We knew going into this meet that these swimmers would do great but this was truly a phenomenal start to our 2019-2020 season!Level 5 had 16 swimmers attend the meet this past weekend. We had a total of 62 new best times and 7 new events swum. An impressive 0 DQs for our level, which shows that our swimmers are really starting to focus on the little things during their races. We have been concentrating on our starts, breakouts and finishes during practice and their hard work has paid off. A special shout out to those who tried 200s of stroke and longer freestyle races. We are excited to get back to work and get ready for our next meet. Awesome job Level 5!
Level 6 sent 22 swimmers to the three day event. They were able to amass 89 new best times, 12 new events swum, and only 1 DQ. Great focus and determination were on display all weekend. This group has been working hard for nearly 2 months and their efforts at practice have paid off. This is only the beginning and we already have a great number of swimmers qualified for Champs in February and March! WAY TO GO!
Level 7-8 had a great showing for the first meet of the year. It was great to get the HS girls some races before their Championship season gets going and to see the kids that have been at practice getting a change to see the work that they have been putting in. The group had 20 swimmers attend and nearly 50 personal best times and a few Gold Championship cut times.
Great start to the season and good luck to all the girls through NFL’s, All Catholics, ECIC, Class meets, Sectionals and States and to the NCSL swimmers in the Championship Meet this weekend.
