Titans Rock at Champs
The Niagara LSC Championship meet was held at ECC the long weekend of July 18th to the 21st, playing host to all of the teams in the LSC. The Titans sent 46 swimmers to the meet from levels 3 through Level 8. We had a tremendous meet swimming a total of 170 new personal best times, setting 2 new team records, and having a good time in the process. Hard work truly paid off as we saw so many of our dedicated athletes show up and show off what they have been doing in practice!
Levels 3 & 4 sent 8 amazing swimmers to the meet pilling together 18 new personal best times and helped out on a ton of relays! Congrats to Level 3’s Andre Charlier, Keira Curvin, Isaac King, and Owen Scibetta, who all swam fantastic! Level 4’s Sean Curvin, Grace Griffin, Emmett King, and Madison Scarpce were also rewarded for all of their hard work with some amazing swims individually as well as relays! These young Titans pulled together a total of 10 top 16 finishes, great efforts all weekend!
Levels 5 & 6 sent had 10 super swimmers contribute 52 new personal best times, 32 finals swims, 22 top 8 finishes, and what appeared to be, an amazing amount of resilience! Level 5’s Kerrington Clouser. Charles Lorenz, Lucy Lyons, Campbell Murphy, Meredith Roberts, and Madeline Scibetta were there just about every session with great attitudes and efforts. Level 6’s Brady Garcia, Haley Griffin, Brie Lorenz, and Chloe Marcyan all swam with heart and determination, and came away with some great finishes to the Long Course season with a ton of personal best times. Special congratulations to Meredith Roberts for placing 3rd overall in the 10 and under divisions’ highpoint race!
Level 7-8 Wow great swimming! The group was approaching 100 personal best swims, Lauren Levy broke a 12 year old 13-14 100 fly Record and Maya Marycan broke and 8 year old 13-14 100 back record. Connor Morrissey, Veronica Bargnesi, Mark Crocker lead the older swimmers with large time drops and strong relay swims. In the Level 7 group along with Lauren and Maya, Natalie Fritsch, Tara DeBoth, Alex Switalski, Sammie Bryk and Paul Wissel also had a great all round meet. Maren Drews, Maya Flash, Erin Cavanaugh, Natalie Hesch, Declan King, Chris Signore also stepped up with some great time drops in multiple events. In a limited roll the college swimmers came, supported and swam some great races, with some best times and some exciting relay swims. ( Senior Men 200 free relay winner) Carter Green and Tommy Baxter were able to compete at Champs and produced great relay swims. I am really proud of this group, the work they put in and the success that they had.
Many of these young athletes learned that what we do at practice we do at meets, and hopefully gained a deeper understanding as to why we focus on doing the little things so well. Close races were won by great finishes, tired swimmers focused on technique and finished strong! Great job Titans!
