Titans swam at the Can-Am challenge and continued to improve in all areas of swimming. Splitting the pools made for short days but many families had swimmers at both ends of the pool making for some busy parents in the stands. This weekend we had 27 Titans 12&unders compete in the STAR meet at ECC. Level 1 had three swimmers at the meet this past weekend. It was Mackenzie Vetter-Higgins’s first swim meet ever-she swam the 50 freestyle and won her heat! James Lyons and Bianca Rivera both swam great and are continuing to work on their stroke technique. Way to go level 1 swimmers! Our 12&unders came to race and they proved that with best times across the board. Issac King had best times in every event and Lauren Fritsch got a best time in her 100 fly by 18 seconds! Lucy Lyons from level 5 had a great 200 freestyle dropping 30 seconds! Brady Garcia swam the 500 on Friday and dropped 15 seconds. Way to go Titans! We have really improved on our stroke technique, only coming out with a few DQ’s throughout our 12&unders. In practice we will continue to work on the basics of technique and move forward with our stroke development!
The 13 & over pool Saturday and Sunday was amazing. We had several Level 5 & 6 swimmers returning from high school and their presence was appreciated, Great jobs to all who tried new events, swam best times, and had some fun! Levels 5 & 6 combined for 24 new best times, 2 new events. We will continue to work towards those goal times and are excited for fast swimming in the weeks to come. Level 7-8 had a small group that attended but produced nearly 20 more best times and it was great to get the girls back from HS season.
